The MS5179 is a 16-channel input, 12-bit high-speed, low-power successive approximation ADC. It operates from a single 2.7V to 5.25V supply and achieves a maximum throughput rate of 1MSPS.
The chip select (CS) and serial clock (SCLK) signals together control the data sampling and conversion process. The falling edge of CS initiates sampling and conversion of the input signal. This device features no pipeline delay. The conversion time is determined by the master clock SCLK. By configuring the control register, the input voltage range can be selected (0V to VREFIN or 0V to 2 × VREFIN), the output coding mode can be set (straight binary or twos complement), and the channel conversion sequence can be preset. For low-throughput applications, multiple shutdown modes are configurable to save power.
